WHAT IS FOOD GENOME?
Food Genome is a big hungry brain that scours the internet, trying to learn everything there is to know about food. We need your help teaching it!
FEED THE GENOME!Food Genome's collection of recipes, cookbooks, food pairings and taste preferences is growing larger by the day. You teach the genome what you like just by interacting with it.
As you teach Food Genome what you like to eat, you build your own personal Food Genome that can help you discover your next favorite thing to eat.
SEE THE GENOME!Over time, the Food Genome learns to offer you recipe and dining recommendations based on what it has learned about your dining history, taste and dietary preferences.
As the Food Genome gets smarter, it develops beautiful images of your personal diet or recipes, with visual comparisons of diet profiles and regional foods.

As more people teach the Food Genome, it becomes a culinary seance-- providing answers to questions like: What are my friends eating? What are people not eating in Chicago? What were they eating in 1999?
The Food Genome is always learning about recipes, regions of cuisine, and food. It keeps track of contributors' suggested pairings and maps the geography of taste -- the flavor profile of a region or population.
Ask the Food Genome anything and it will try to come up with a good food suggestion. And soon it will pair deliciously with Twitter and Facebook.
YOU ARE THE GENOMEYou can teach the Food Genome about your tastes or upload a favorite family cookbook -- even feed it your recipe blog or Twitter stream. It will analyze your eating history to find out what you like to eat, when. As the Food Genome grows, more recipe sources are available to further blend and diversify your culinary repertoire.
We are dedicated to providing privacy controls for individual diet and tastes.
